I’m on holiday. Have you missed me? Sorry I’ve not written. They don’t allow computers in the asylum. Actually, I’ve been painting my bedroom. Yesterday was the prep work including stripping wallpaper and “masking” the woodwork, and then priming the bare walls. Today we painted the ceiling and walls. Ceiling white, walls a lovely shade of green. We moved the furniture around the room and tomorrow I’ll touch up any bits of wall I missed whilst painting.

Tomorrow I also plan to begin working on the “troll cave,” otherwise known as the basement.

Some holiday, eh? Thursday and Friday, I plan to “play” meaning shopping, eating out, seeing a film. Gonna see “WALL-E”, which my brother says is great. Saturday… not sure yet what I’ll do. Hoping to do some reading as well. I’m reading Jeffrey Deaver’s “Lincoln Rhyme” series. Fantastically creepy and well written. Hoping the Library has “The Coffin Dancer” which is the second in the series.

Gotta go. The Head Nurse insists I get to bed so she can lock down the ward. See you on the other side, mates!

I’m on my way back from insanity.  Is it Monday?  Is it still June?  Isn’t Summertime supposed to be a time “when the livin’ is easy?”  Since when?  Where’s my leisure time?  I want it!  Give it to me NOW!!  (taking deep cleansing breaths… closing eyes and chanting, ohm, ohm, ohm.)  Last week was an absolute killer.  Even yesterday (Sunday) a day on which even God rested, I was busy.  I DON’T WANT TO BE BUSY!!  Will this week be better?  Perhaps, somewhat.  That being said, it IS Monday, I AM at work, I AM busy, again.  I will be here till 8:30 P.M.  *sigh*  As of Sunday next (July 6) I’m on vacation.  Aside from the opportunity to lie-in daily, I will be BUSY!  We will probably take one day to go somewhere fun and do some fun stuff.  ONE DAY!  At  least I won’t be at Library and can take breaks, etc.  It will at least be different.  Hoping to finally manage the re-do of my bedroom.  I’ve been wanting to have at it for about 2 years.

*sigh*  It’s no wonder I’ve no time to write more of my novel.  At this rate it isn’t even a short story.

Sorry for the rant.  It is part of my 12 Step Programme for recovering from insanity.

On the way home from library, I saw a rabbit running around a pine tree followed at a distance by a small dog, not much bigger than itself.  It made me wonder who was chasing whom?  I really think the rabbit was just toying with the wee doggy ’cause there is just no way the poor mutt could ever catch that “waskely wabbit!”  Have to say I know how the poor dog must have felt.  He was in “dogged” pursuit but would never catch the rabbit.  Sounds like my life.

 Well, I suppose we’re all hot.  At least anybody who lives in the Nothern Hemisphere is.  Last night we got some horrendous storms as well.  They came at us at 50 MPH!  We were grateful, living in a woods, none of our trees came to visit us in our den.  We did head underground for about 10 minutes whilst the storms blew through, just in case.  All we have are sticks and leaves.  In town though, and at library where I work, there was a lot of tree damage.  We were very fortunate.

Today I was the boss of the Adult Department at library. One of my coworkers is on holiday so that left me, the Clerk Treasurer, our teenage page, and a subordinate coworker. The Clerk stayed in his office all day except when we went to Pizza Hut for lunch. (He also left early.) That left me in charge all day. I am a benevolent boss so all was good. When we left library to go home, we noticed a lone bicycle in the parking lot. The Children’s department Librarian and I went back inside and searched the building but found nobody. When we came back out a guy came from the back parking lot and claimed the bike. He was chatting with somebody else and had left his bike behind.

Dennis fixed our gas grill. It had been spewing soot and had actually ruined some food. He installed a new burner and now it is working nearly better than new! The new burner is a bit wider than the old one so we have more area for cooking. Nice!

I had 2 cookies with my dinner tonight. I’m pathetic!
